Philippa Weitz is a quPhilippaWeitzalified teacher and psychological counsellor with 28 years of private and primary care experience. In addition to her counselling practice she is currently Commissioning Editor for the UKCP Book Series, Managing Director of Philippa Weitz Training Ltd. and co-founder of the London Online Therapy Centre, Online Counselling 4 Brits and author/editor of Psychotherapy 2.0: where Psychotherapy and Technology Meet.

The Internet and Me: The Changing World and How Online Counselling Fits Into This New International Arena – Amanda Hawkins

Amanda started counselling work in 1996 and since then has have worked in a variety of organisational and community settings as a counsellor, Amanda Hawkinssupervisor and trainer. Amanda has a small private practice. Amanda worked for 4 years as Clinical Director at Youthreach in Greenwich. She also initiated the Onside Project in Medway, where she coordinated all therapeutic services for Children and Young people within the area. Amanda also lectured in Counselling at Lewisham College, London. Amanda currently works as the Senior Manager, Emotional Support Services within the RNIB, which is currently building an online service, and is Immediate Past Chair of BACP. In May 2014 Amanda was voted on as Secretary to the International Association of Counselling and has an informed overview of how Online Therapy is developing across the world.

Amanda will talk about how she sees that Online Therapy will impact within a global village context and why this is important for therapists in the UK, both in terms of employment and also ethical considerations.

Working Online with Chronic Pain

Join the online audience as Olivia talks with John about the part the Internet plays in her working life.

Olivia-Djouad Olivia Djouadi is a UKCP accredited psychotherapist and a fully trained online counsellor. She works with clients both face to face and online with a specialty  in both trauma and chronic illness. Her studies with online counselling was via OLT (Online Training for Counsellors).
Over the years she has worked as an intern within the NHS, at a womans centre and more recently at One in Four working with clients who had trauma  during childhood. She has also in more recent years been a diabetic educator for Diabetes UK, she also has type 1 diabetes which is why she can see how  online counselling can help those with medical needs.
